A Massachusetts system needs attention in every season
New England weather is hard on irrigation lines and outdoor fixtures. Freezing ground, dry July weeks, and early frosts each call for a different visit. Here is how our crews look after a property through the year.
01Spring start-up
Once the ground thaws, we start the system back up, run every zone, and check for heads that broke or shifted over the winter.
02Mid-season inspection
The hottest weeks show every weakness in a system. A mid-season inspection looks the system over while it is working its hardest and finds problems before the lawn browns out.
03Winterization
Water left in the lines expands when it freezes and cracks pipes, valves, and heads. Before the first hard freeze, we winterize the system so it comes through the cold months ready for spring.
04Holiday lighting
When the sprinklers are resting, the lights take over. We design and install professional holiday lighting, maintain it through the season, then take it down and store it for next year. Landscape lighting keeps working every night of the year.

Built on one piece of advice from our first customer
Founder Steve Behan studied turf management at the UMass Stockbridge School of Agriculture and was working as a golf course superintendent when he took on his first irrigation customer in 1987. That customer told him what it would take to build a business.
Steve grew Rainfall part-time for eight years on that principle before running it full time. Today our crews, led by project manager Matthew Donovan and a team of irrigation technicians, still work the same way: honest recommendations, careful workmanship, and following through on what we promise.
